Infested Bakery Closed By Council

A bakery in Northern Ireland has been closed down for the fourth time in a year after a rodent infestation was discovered.

The Old Polish Bakery in Greysteel, near Limavady was closed on health grounds by health officers from Limavady Council, after they found a dead mouse in a container of treacle and a further two dead mice under a freezer.

It is the fourth time the bakery has been closed in the last 12 months because of a risk to human health.

The closure followed a court application by the council.

The council’s solicitor told Londonderry Magistrates Court there was also widespread evidence of rodent droppings in the building.
