Tesco Relists Kingsmill Bread

Tesco has relisted several of Kingsmill’s core branded bread loaves, nine months after they were cut.

Kingsmill bread has secured a comeback on the shelves of Tesco stores less than nine months after it became one of the highest-profile victims of a nationwide cull of brands by the retailer, the Sunday People reports.

This year, Allied Bakeries, the company that produces Kingsmill bread, completed a GBP 210m investment in new plants and had been left reeling by Tesco’s decision.

An Allied Bakeries spokeswoman said: “Tesco has chosen to relist core Kingsmill bread products nationally and we continue to support them with building plans for the long term.”
