Chocolate multinational, Mars Inc, has announced it will double its UK innovation programme and launch more products in 2010.
It is expected to increase its marketing investment by 42 per cent to £47 million in a bid to ensure 97 per cent of the UK’s population see Mars’ ads at least 100 times over the coming year.
Sales of Mars products struggled in the first half of 2009 but improved towards the end of the year.
A good start to 2010 meant the company was able to invest in new products and marketing.
The Galaxy brand is expected to see several new additions to its portfolio.
Mars MD, Fiona Dawson, said: “I’ve been in this job for five years and it is the strongest plan I’ve seen. Our level of innovation is unprecedented.”
