The market of gluten-free products continues its growth, with a 22% increase which translates into a sales volume of EUR175m, according to a press release from Gluten Free Expo, citing research company IRI.
Pertaining to the “Wellness and health” category, the branch of breakfast biscuits has revealed a positive trend. Out of all main sectors analyzed, gluten-free biscuits recorded the biggest growth, increasing in value by 24.9%.
The second “National observatory” report in Italy on the gluten-free market commissioned by Gluten Free Expo confirms this trend. The data analyzed at the end of 2016 shows that the 28.3% of interviewed companies produce gluten-free sweets and confectioneries, when asked “Which type of products do you produce?”
Gluten Free Expo 2017 takes place in Rimini, Italy, from November 18 to 21.
