Ferrero International has completed the acquisition of Fannie May Confections Brands, Inc. and the Harry London chocolate brands from 1-800-FLOWERS.com Inc.
The acquisition includes all operations of Fannie May, together with the manufacturing facility in Ohio and two warehouse and distribution facilities, located in Ohio and Illinois, for a total of USD115m.
Fannie May will operate as a standalone entity under the Ferrero Group, with support from Ferrero U.S.A.
However, Ferrero U.S.A. will maintain its headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey and its assembly and packaging facility in Somerset, New Jersey.
Fannie May is a manufacturer of premium chocolates and confections and was founded in 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. Over nearly 100 years, the company has grown into one of the most well-known premium confectionery brands in the Midwestern United States. The company employs 750 people full-time, with additional seasonal hires.
Founded in 1946, Ferrero is a global chocolate confectionery producer, with expected global sales overcoming USD11bn, distribution across over 160 countries, and a workforce of more than 30,000 people across 53 countries.
