Kempf announced it is soon opening a new production building to house the company’s Teflon coating lines. The first line will start working at the beginning of September 2020 and it will be fully operational by the end of January 2021, Guido Kempf, Kempf GmbH’s CEO, shared exclusively with WorldBakers. “The complete coating area for fluoropolymers will be housed in this new building and will work with four fully automatic coating lines,” he detailed. Sustainability was an underlying priority in the design of the facility and is ensured with state-of-the-art technology. “For example, we will cover 100% of the entire electricity requirement with a photovoltaic system on the roof,” Kempf CEO told us.
As for what the new facility will produce, he anticipates: “It will be the most modern, most efficient and, above all, most automated coating plant for bakeware in Europe, on a production area of 5,000sqm. With four different fully automatic production lines, we can apply the highest quality fluoropolymer non-stick coatings.” The team of specialists working there will comprise around 30 employees by the beginning of 2021, in all necessary fields of expertise.
The project for the new facility was launched as the company saw its production close to capacity limits at its previous location. “With the investments we have created the conditions for further growth and can further expand our technology leadership,” highlights Kempf. The construction started in November 2019, he shares; “The building, the outdoor facilities, and the associated infrastructure (road connection, sewage technology, etc.) were completed in early August 2020. The assembly of the equipment began in June 2020 and will be completed, step by step, by January 2021.” There is room for further additions to this production building: “The property covers approximately 90,000sqm and offers enough space for extensions. The second construction phase is planned within the next five years,” Kempf tells us.
