McDonald’s announced it will stop selling baked foods as part of its McCafe menu line in the United States. They were introduced in the menu in October 2020, the first addition of bakery items to McDonald’s core menu in over eight years. The retired products include the apple fritters, blueberry muffins and cinnamon rolls.
In the mean time, McDonald’s started testing a collaboration with donut maker Krispy Kreme. Starting March 21, approximately 160 locations across Kentucky – Louisville, Lexington and the surrounding area – started serving three Krispy Kreme fan faves – the Original Glazed Doughnut, the Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut and the Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut.
