The Kraft Heinz Co. has appointed Steve Cahillane as chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2026. He will succeed Carlos Abrams-Rivera, who will remain with the company as an adviser until March 5, 2026.
Following Kraft Heinz’s planned separation into two standalone businesses, Cahillane will assume the role of CEO of the Global Taste Elevation Co. The company has launched a search for a chief executive for the North American Grocery Co.
Cahillane joins Kraft Heinz from Kellanova, where he most recently served as chairman, president and CEO until the company’s acquisition by Mars, Inc. He also played a key role in the earlier separation of The Kellogg Co.
“Steve is uniquely qualified to lead this organization into the future, and we are delighted he will be taking on the role of CEO,” said Miguel Patricio, chair of the board. “His track record and experience in the industry are unparalleled and will be invaluable as we embark on this next chapter.”
As part of the leadership changes, John T. Cahill will become chair of the board, while Patricio will continue to serve as a board member.
