Ferrero Group has signed an agreement to acquire Bold Snacks, marking its entry into the better-for-you snacking segment in South America.
Founded in 2018, Bold Snacks has built strong momentum in Brazil through a digitally driven business model and a growing portfolio of protein bars, recently expanded to include whey powders. The company operates a production site and office in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, with around 300 employees set to join Ferrero Brazil as part of the transaction.
Ferrero said the acquisition strengthens its position in the fast-growing functional snacking category while supporting portfolio diversification across key markets. The move also complements its existing better-for-you brands, including Eat Natural and FULFIL in Europe and Power Crunch in North America.
Chief Financial Officer Daniel Martinez Carretero described Bold Snacks as “a distinctive brand with strong momentum in Brazil,” highlighting the deal as a strategic step in expanding Ferrero’s presence in high-growth segments.
Bold Snacks founder and CEO Gabriel Ferreira said joining Ferrero offers an opportunity to accelerate growth and expand distribution, supported by the group’s global brand-building capabilities.
Ferrero and its affiliated company Dori Alimentos, owned by Ferrara, currently employ around 4,500 people across Brazil. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to customary conditions.
