Truvia Expands Sweetener Portfolio With New Tri-Blend Sugar Alternative

Truvia has expanded its sweetener portfolio with the launch of Truvia Allulose Plus Stevia Sweetener & Monk Fruit Sweetener, a new tri-blend product designed to deliver a sugar-like taste while providing zero calories per serving.

The new formulation combines allulose, stevia sweetener and monk fruit extract in a single product. According to the company, the blend was developed to offer a smoother flavour profile with reduced bitterness and aftertaste compared with some alternative sweeteners.

The product is designed as a one-to-one replacement for sugar, allowing consumers to use it across beverages, baking applications and everyday recipes without requiring conversion calculations.

“As consumers continue looking for ways to reduce sugar without compromising taste or convenience, we saw an opportunity to create a more complete sweetening solution,” said Brian Tockman, Senior Director, Consumer Brands at Cargill.

“Truvia® Allulose Plus Stevia Sweetener & Monk Fruit Sweetener builds on the brand’s leadership in plant-based sweeteners while delivering a more advanced, multi-functional solution. It simplifies the experience by replacing multiple sweeteners with one product, offering a 1:1 sugar replacement and zero calories per serving for both convenience and performance in a single, versatile product.”

Truvia said the formulation was designed to balance sweetness, taste and functionality. The company noted that allulose contributes a sugar-like taste and supports browning and caramelisation during baking, while stevia and monk fruit provide sweetness without adding calories.

The sweetener is intended for use in both hot and cold applications.

The product is currently available at Target stores in the United States and is scheduled to roll out to additional retailers, including Albertsons and Kroger, during the summer.

Truvia is a plant-based sweetener brand owned by Cargill and offers a range of sugar-reduction products for use in beverages, cooking and baking.
