The buzz and wave of momentum that was Europain 2008 – attracting 642 exhibitors and 86000 visitors – is expected to continue into this year’s event from March 6-10 at Paris Nord Villepinte.
Organisers are aiming for 680 exhibitors and in excess of 87000 visitors, saying that the fact that the event is now biennial will generate a more sustained interest.
“There is a positive aura surrounding France’s biggest trade fair dedicated to the simplest products in the world,” said press consultant Michelle Jackson.
Linked, of course, to Europain is Intersuc which again will see chocolate and confectionary makers vying to outdo each other with ingenious techniques and creative ideas.
And together, Europain & Intersuc offers real solutions for every aspect of baking, confectionary and chocolate-making. The event will feature traditional and industrial baking; pastry, biscuits, confections, in-store catering and a wide selection covering products and equipment, education and events.
Spread over four exhibition halls, the 2010 event is truly international with 36 per cent of the total visitors being from 133 countries other than France.
Importantly for exhibitors, three out of four visitors at the 2008 event were buyers and represented more than 60,000 potential buyers. Exhibitors said 87 per cent of contacts made led to sales and the vast majority of exhibitors in 2008 are returning this year.
Said Jackson: “The activities at Europain combine technical expertise, knowledge, skills and creativity, put into practice by the great names of our profession.”
A feature of the 2010 event is the first Bakery Masters with 24 competitors taking part, each working exclusively in the field of baking.
