American Great Harvest Bread Company Is Closing

American Great Harvest Bread Company, based in Champaign, Illinois, will permanently close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th.

This is the last week customers can stop by to stock up on breads and other products from the company.

“We’ve loved sharing our amazing breads and sweets, donating to important events throughout the community, making friends with customers and being part of your daily bread and family traditions,” said David and Terri Burdick.

“The rumors are true, we’ll be baking our last loaves this week and permanently closing the bakery on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 at 1 PM. […] Let’s not make this a sad time, but one of STOCKING UP!” the company announced.

Great Harvest Bread Company is a chain of more than 200 bakery/shops, each of which mill their own flour and bake fresh bread

The Champaign location opened in 2000. An online announcement stating that the Champaign franchise was seeking a buyer said the new owners have strengthened relationships and infrastructure since taking over.
