BRIDOR Buys the Panamar Bakery Group

France-based LE DUFF Group has agreed to acquire Spain’s Panamar Bakery Group in a transaction marking the biggest deal in the group’s history, as well as for its bakery subsidiary Bridor.

Panamar, which is expected to generate around EUR640m in turnover in 2026 and employs approximately 2,600 people, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of frozen bakery products across retail, hospitality and foodservice channels. The company offers more than 1,200 SKUs under brands including Panamar, Cobopa, Pacfren and Panusa, with exports spanning over 20 countries.

The acquisition strengthens Bridor’s position in frozen bakery and viennoiserie, while significantly expanding its footprint in the Iberian Peninsula. It also enhances the group’s industrial and logistics network across the 100 countries where Bridor operates.

Isabel Martinez, President of Panamar Bakery Group, said the deal aligns with the company’s long-term ambitions, highlighting shared family ownership values and entrepreneurial culture between the two businesses.

Philippe Morin, Worldwide Managing Director of Bridor, described the acquisition as a “decisive step” toward becoming a global leader in bakery and viennoiserie products.

The transaction is part of LE DUFF Group’s wider strategy to reach EUR3.7bn in turnover across its divisions, which include Bridor, Gourming, and foodservice chains such as Brioche Dorée, Del Arte and La Madeleine.

Bridor has been a key growth engine, with revenue rising from EUR800m in 2021 to approximately EUR2.7bn in 2026. The company is pursuing an ambitious investment programme combining capacity expansion and acquisitions, with the aim of doubling turnover by 2031.

Recent and planned investments include:

  • Expansion in North America, with projects in Montreal, New Jersey, Utah and Texas
  • Multiple European developments, including acquisitions in Portugal and the Netherlands, and new production sites in France and Switzerland
  • Growth in Asia-Pacific, notably through expansion in China and the acquisition of Laurent Bakery in Australia and New Zealand

Bridor supplies frozen bakery, viennoiserie and pâtisserie products to around 90,000 customers worldwide, including high-end hotels and restaurants. The company collaborates with leading pastry chefs such as Pierre Hermé and institutions including La Maison Lenôtre.

Louis Le Duff, founder and president of LE DUFF Group, said the company’s continued growth is driven by long-term team stability, product quality and ongoing innovation across both products and services.

The addition of Panamar is expected to further reinforce these pillars, while accelerating Bridor’s global leadership ambitions in premium frozen bakery.
