DSM will showcase its innovations in nutritional solutions for the first time at this year’s FoodPro, supporting the company’s drive to grow its presence in the Asia Pacific market.
Committed to offering its customers in the region tailor-made formulations and premixes to support an array of health benefits, DSM will present its technical expertise and portfolio of ingredients for a wide range of applications.
DSM experts will be on stand to discuss the company’s nutritional lipids offering and the many advantages omega-3s can bring including heart, cognitive and eye health benefits.
Visitors will also be able to learn more about DSM’s OatWell oat beta-glucan, a naturally-derived ingredient, which is particularly well known for its heart health benefits. Beta-glucan is a soluble fiber found in oats that helps to maintain healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels, both key pillars of cardiovascular function.
OatWell is a recent addition to DSM’s ‘Guard your heart’ health benefit platform, and is ideal for use in applications ranging from breads, biscuits and cereals to pasta, beverages, instant powder drinks and dietary supplements.
Fortitech Premixes by DSM are also available in the region for the first time. These customized blends combine a range of functional ingredients, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, nucleotides, nutraceuticals and herbs, in one single premix. This technology allows manufacturers to boost the nutritional profile of a wide variety of fortified food, baked goods, dairy products and beverages without altering the taste, texture, color or mouth feel.
“We are delighted to be exhibiting at FoodPro for the first time. The region is very important to us. We’re here to demonstrate how our nutritional solutions, alongside our scientific and regulatory expertise, application support and market insights, can help manufacturers in the development of high quality products. This allows us to not only better serve our existing customers but also expand our reach even further,” said Carmel Power, business manager, Oceania, Human Health & Nutrition at DSM.
DSM acquired Unitech Industries Limited (Unitech), a New Zealand based producer of nutritional products for both human and animal markets in July 2013.
