KitchenAid has joined forces with the Tiptree World Bread Awards for the “Young Baker” category. The candidates can apply online by August 31 and they can be accepted until September 6. The applications will be evaluated on September, 17, 2014.
The contest has two age sections: under 12 and 12-17. The winner of each section will receive an iconic Artisan 4.8L Tilt-Head Stand Mixer.
The awards were established in 2013 to celebrate the art of bread making and are open to professional and amateur bakers.
Bread is a huge industry in the UK, with over 12 million loaves sold every day and the success of programmes such as Great British Bake Off, which have played a significant role in re-igniting Britain’s interest in home baking.
The expert panel of judges includes Frances Quinn, Winner of Great British Bake Off 2013; author and food critic, Charles Campion; and BBC Radio 2 presenter, Nigel Barden.
Winners will be announced on October, 7. The overall winner will be presented with a GBP 1,000 cash prize, along with a KitchenAid Artisan 6.9L Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer, Artisan Toaster and Artisan Kettle.
Israel Quintana, UK and Ireland Sales Manager, comments: “It seems only right that as the makers of the most iconic mixer in the world, we support an Awards programme which is encouraging the next generation of bakers.”
