Middleby Acquires Italian Cooking Equipment Producer

The Middleby Corporation announced the acquisition of Firex Srl, a leading manufacturer of steam cooking equipment for the commercial foodservice industry.

Based in Sedico, Italy, Firex has approximately USD20m in annual revenues.

“Firex products are highly innovative and include automated features allowing for reduced labor, increased capacity and standardization of cooking processes. We see expanded opportunities for growth as we introduce Firex products in the U.S. to complement our current equipment lineup and in the international markets leveraging our infrastructure and customer relationships globally.”

Firex produces catering equipment for over 40 years, responding to the different needs of large restaurants, small food companies, catering services, centralized cooking facilities.

In March 2018, the Middleby Corporation announced the acquisition of Ve.Ma.C, a leading designer and manufacturer of handling, automation and robotics solutions for protein food processing lines.
