Rexnord and Cambridge Engineered Solutions Join Conveyor Offering

Since Rexnord acquired Cambridge Engineered Solutions this summer, the companies are focused on innovation and equipment development that allows bakers to move goods more quickly and efficiently from dough to door.

“Over the decades, Cambridge has built a reputation unequaled in the conveyor belt industry thanks to a world-class team of innovators, fabricators and market experts,” said Tracy Tyler, Cambridge president and Rexnord vice president, Food Vertical, for www.worldbakers.com. “Now, as a Rexnord company, I am confident that Cambridge will exponentially grow our market opportunities as we continue to develop new technologies, optimize systems and pioneer new standards that improve baking production and food safety.”

Rexnord and Cambridge offer the baking and food industries both metal and plastic conveyor belt options as well as bearings, drives, chains and other parts needed to moved baked goods across a plant.

“The combination of Cambridge’s leadership in bakery and food applications, and Rexnord’s strength in highly-engineered mechanical components yields an unequaled portfolio of conveying solutions that creates value for customers,” said Sudhanshu Chhabra, president Consumer Goods for Rexnord.
“It’s an example of the type of capabilities and portfolio expansion we are focusing on in the baking and food processing industries as part of a broad mergers and acquisition strategy,” he added in statement for Worldbakers.com.

“We recently highlighted our combined offerings at IBIE and introduced our expanded capabilities to global OEM partners and end users,” said Tyler. “We see a trend where customers are looking to simplify their purchasing decisions and choose a one-stop supplier that can offer wider product offerings and customized solutions to move goods more quickly and efficiently within the bakery.”

For the baking industry, the Rexnord Cambridge team recently introduced three new spiral cage conveyor belts for baking applications such as proofing, cooling and freezing.
