Tromp Group appoints Mark Hotze to lead its new North American office

Tromp Group, a Dutch manufacturer of baking equipment for waffles, pizzas, cakes/pies, pastries, and specialty breads, announced they have established a company-owned office, Tromp Group Americas, LLC, to support the North American market. 

The Tromp Group is comprised of Tromp Bakery Equipment, Vanderpol Waffle Systems, and Den Boer Ovens. The Markel Bakery Group purchased all of these companies in the past two years. 

Richard Van Heukelum, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tromp Group, stated, “North America and Mexico are very important markets for us.  Once Markel Bakery Group acquired Vanderpol and Den Boer, we had the resources to make the necessary investment to fully serve this important market.”  Van Heukelum added, “We are very happy to have Mark Hotze as the leader of our efforts given his knowledge of the industry and history as a baker.” 

Mark Hotze will serve as Vice President and General Manager of Tromp Group Americas, Inc. Hotze stated, “I am excited to join Tromp Group and be part of the larger Markel Bakery Group.  Being able to leverage Markel resources to grow this business makes us unique and creates opportunities unheard of previously for our customers.  In addition to becoming the industry standard for specialty baking, part of our mission is to expand AMF’s growth in mixers, ovens, coolers, and distribution systems in the markets that Tromp Group serves.” 

Hotze added, “We are building a dedicated service team to support the market.  We look to work with our existing distributor to support their efforts as well.”
