Ilapack demonstrates cutting-edge packaging technology
Ilapak is demonstrating a number of cutting edge technological innovations at Interpack this year, including its revolutionary Ultrasonic sealing system fitted to both a Delta 3000 long dwell flow-wrapper as well as a Vegatronic 2000 bagging machine, an exclusive new stand-up pack, Flexidity ®, developed in conjunction with Amcor and an ultra hygienic sachet machine.
Ilapak’s display this year underlines the company’s ongoing commitment to R & D and the development of new technologies to reduce operating costs and enhance performance and pack quality in both food and non-food applications.
On show for the first time at Interpack is Ilapak’s groundbreaking Ultrasonic sealing system, fitted to a Delta 4000 LD long-dwell flow-wrapper. The new machine opens up new avenues for applications which demand modified atmosphere (MAP) packaging and hermetic sealing, with the benefit of higher throughputs and reduced operating costs when packing products such as cheese, meat, poultry and other products requiring exceptional hermetic seals.
The ultrasonic sealing system, originally on Ilapak’s Vegatronic range of bagging machines, now delivers customers the same substantial advantages on their Delta range of flow-wrappers, including dramatically improved seal integrity and efficiencies, minimising the amount of product damage in the seal area and reducing leaker rates to a new low.
Also new is Flexidity ®, an exclusive new stand-up pack developed in conjunction with leading packaging specialist Amcor and produced on Ilapak’s Vegatronic bagging machine.
Ideal for the increasing trend for snacking on the go, and suitable for all types of snack products, the pack has excellent stand-up features as well as being easy to open.
Its eye-catching design ensures that it achieves excellent on-shelf product differentiation while its stackable design means that it can be merchandised effectively.
Ilapak is also launching the Vegatronic 5000 LD, a long dwell vertical bagging machine which is capable of producing exceptionally high quality seals at high speeds of up to 160 packs per minute and even up to 200 packs per minute with certain options.
Complete lines incorporating robotic product handling and cartoning will be on show demonstrating just some of Ilapak’s turnkey project handling capabilities.
One of these is Ilapak’s innovative, fully automated ‘Flobag’ concept, for vacuum packing large portions of meat and cheese in high volumes on a Delta flow-wrapper incorporating robotic portion handling. The line will demonstrate significant labour saving benefits for packers used to using one or two operators packing their product with pre-made bags.
Another fully automatic line on show will demonstrate Ilapak robotics feeding doughnuts at high speeds into a Carrera 2000/40 flow-wrapper.
