Health and Wellness Trends in India

Recent Euromonitor research shows a rising trend of healthier food in India. It also shows that multinational companies still dominate on that particular market, but domestic producers are expanding their product portfolios and becoming more competitive.

The research predicts further development of healthier foods and healthier lifestyles due to their growing acceptance among younger and more modern consumers.

With rising consumer interest in healthier products, health and wellness beverages showed strong growth in 2013 as well. Growing health consciousness was clearly visible in the increased preference for exercising, gyms and weight control over the last few years of the 2008-2013 review period. To tap into the trend, manufacturers continued to add new products to their portfolios. The year also recorded increased coverage of healthier food items in the mass media and increased presence on retail shelves.
