Ohly Expands X-SEED Portfolio to Enhance Enzyme Production

Ohly, a leader in fermentation and extraction technology, has expanded its line of yeast-based bionutrients aimed at boosting productivity for enzyme producers seeking cost-effective and sustainable solutions. The X-SEED product range, tailored for specific nutritional needs of various production hosts, is designed to maximize enzyme activity, productivity, and yield in fermentation processes.

The new X-SEED offerings, named X-SEED KAT Advanced, X-SEED KAT Plus, and X-SEED Carbo Peptone, serve as primary or secondary nitrogen sources to support enzyme producers in optimizing enzyme titres, enhancing specific activity, and facilitating downstream processing. These products stem from a three-year collaboration with key industry players, during which Ohly leveraged its extensive knowledge of microorganism nutrient requirements to address the growing demand for targeted, flexible nutrient solutions.

“During development, our fermentation specialists worked closely with biochemists, process engineers, formulation specialists, and microbiologists,” said Abhishek Somani, Bionutrients Business Development Manager at Ohly. “Through a series of lab-scale investigations and customer trials, we refined these nutrients to reliably enhance product yields and process productivity according to the specific needs of each production host.”
