JBT Foodtech Introduces Low Footprint Upgrade to Bakery Oven

Food processing equipment manufacturer JBT FoodTech has modified its Double D Revorack Bakery Oven to enable both large and small baking manufacturers to increase capacity by up to 67 percent, while significantly reducing its footprint at the same time.

Unique to JBT FoodTech, the modified rack oven means that, for example, a baker with a 4-rack oven can now upgrade to a 5-rack oven, or upgrade a 6-rack to a 10-rack, but on a 20 percent smaller footprint. The low footprint model is available on all rack sizes from 3-rack up to 10-rack.

With the low footprint model the burner and heat exchanger, which on the standard model are located vertically at the side of the baking chamber, have been repositioned to sit horizontally across the top of the chamber.

The repositioning of the heat exchanger increases the oven’s height, but further reduces its width, saving even more on expensive floor space. However, there’s no change to the standard of technology or engineering. The benefits to baking companies are immense – larger operators who upgrade from a 6-rack to a 10-rack can increase capacity by up to 67%. And smaller operators who have limited space have many more options to maximise their capacity, while retaining the ability to process a wide range of applications.”

“Even before we developed the low footprint model, the Double D Revorack oven always had a smaller footprint than any other oven manufacturer,” according to Ian Wallace, JBT FoodTech’s Double D international sales and marketing manager.

The Revorack Bakery Oven has been a flagship product in the Double D portfolio of baking technology since the brand was established in 1978. The rack ovens are available from a single rack up to a 16-rack, and can be customised to suit any rack or tray size. Double D’s precise airflow system ensures that products are consistently and evenly baked across each tray, and from top to bottom on the rack.

Additionally, the full range of Double D rack and continuous ovens can be tested at JBT FoodTech’s Food Technology Centre in Broxburn in the UK.
