The manufacturer United Biscuits (UB) highlights career opportunities at UB and across the FMCG industry, encouraging attendees to create their own biscuit at the Big Bang Fair in Birmingham from March 16 to 19.
The company announced that it will be showcasing at the Bing Bang Fair with the aim of inspiring and encouraging young people to consider the variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers available at United Biscuits and across the FMCG industry.
UB is committed to inspiring talent into the industry and in 2015 provided 34 apprentice places for a period of one to two years. Visitors at the UB stand this year will learn about the science behind biscuit dunking, have the chance to guess how many McVitie’s Digestive Nibbles in the jar and how many Jacob’s Mini Cheddars need to be stacked up to reach the height of Big Ben. There will also be the chance to design their own biscuit.
Jason Billingham, Head of Discover at United Biscuits said: “The Big Bang Fair is a real celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths and is a great way to inspire young people by bringing alive the exciting and rewarding opportunities there are in these areas. We want to discover the next great innovators and industry experts and open their minds to the fantastic careers available to them within our industry.”
The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair is the largest celebration of STEM careers for young people in the UK.
