BACKTECH celebrates 25 years with new trial bakery

Austrian roll plant specialist BACKTECH is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Andrea Haider, Business Unit Assistance, said: “This year BACKTECH presents itself stronger than ever and stands out through product know- how, tailor-made solutions for customers and market presence.

“The relocation at the beginning of the year and the opening of the trial bakery guarantee an even better focus on the core competencies.”

The new trial bakery will be implemented in spring at the new site in Pischelsdorf. It offers customers and partners the possibility to commonly monitor and control the production process in comfortable surroundings. This modernly equipped bakery will be available for partners and customers alike as a test and training center and will function as a real meeting and communication site.

In summer last year the owners Georg and Christian Knill announced they were going to pool together the sites of BACKTECH and its neighbouring affiliated firm Rosendahl, in order to centralise the local competences in special engineering.

“As the two locations were only 18 km apart from each other, it was more efficient and target-aimed to coordinate all projects from one location,” added Haider.

BACKTECH has been led as a strategic business unit of Rosendahl Maschinen GmbH since January 1 this year.

The new headquarters in Pischelsdorf were extended with two new floors and ready to move in on schedule at the beginning of the year.

Haider said: “The merger of the two locations gives BACKTECH considerable advantages. The focus lies on automated manufacturing, allowing the thorough concentration on the core competency of roll plants.
Production capacities and resources can be optimally used.

“The mutual interchange of know-how among 360 employees, who are concerned with highly qualitative and complex special engineering and plant manufacturing, means a crucial competitive edge.”
