The doors recently opened in Chicago, USA on the first Barry Callebaut United States Chocolate Academy.
This is the 12th academy under the Barry Callebaut brand and its opening gives the company a presence on all continents.
Courses at the academy aim to inspire artisans, pastry chefs, confectioners, bakers and caterers from around the globe to share their passion for fine chocolate, as well as improving skills and techniques and learning about the latest chocolate-making trends.
The academy offers a diverse range of seminars, demonstrations, theoretical courses and practical workshops, focusing on creativity, innovation and proficiency. New and innovative courses are offered, as well as foundation programmes for those new to chocolate.
A technical advisor team leads the academy teaching staff that regularly includes members from the Barry Callebaut Chocolate Ambassadors Club who represent the company brands at events throughout the year.
