IMCD has opened a newly integrated headquarters and technical center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bringing together its local management, commercial teams and laboratory facilities under one roof.
The site, inaugurated on 5 February 2026, supports IMCD’s Beauty & Personal Care, Food & Nutrition, and Home Care I&I business groups, combining technical expertise, application development and customer collaboration spaces. The company said the integrated setup is designed to enable faster, more effective cooperation with customers and suppliers across multiple end markets.
The investment builds on IMCD’s continued expansion in life science and speciality ingredient markets in Southeast Asia, following its acquisition of Euro Chemo-Pharma and subsidiary Biofresh in 2023. It reflects a broader strategy to work closer to customers, share expertise across categories and co-develop practical, sustainable formulation solutions.
At the Kuala Lumpur hub, technical and commercial teams previously spread across multiple locations now operate together. Customers and suppliers can access application laboratories, end-market specialists and commercial support in a single location, supported by digital tools, logistics expertise and local market insight.
The site includes a Food & Nutrition Applications Laboratory and Bistro focused on formulation development for food, bakery and confectionery applications. The Bistro functions as a tasting, discussion and experience space, allowing customers to evaluate finished products and collaborate with IMCD teams on trend-driven concepts, from ideation and functional recipe development through to ready-to-evaluate samples.
In addition, the Beauty & Personal Care Laboratory and Beauty Studio support formulation work in skin care, sun care, hair care, toiletries and colour cosmetics. The Beauty Studio is designed for rapid prototyping, offering more than 20 market-ready chassis formulations aligned with consumer trends and established ingredient technologies.
The Home Care I&I Laboratory covers applications including laundry, dishwash, surface care, vehicle care, air care and pet care, with equipment for testing, formulation optimisation and troubleshooting.
IMCD operates more than 80 laboratories worldwide and is active in over 60 countries. The company said the new Malaysian hub underlines its commitment to investing in local expertise and shared technical capabilities to support long-term partnerships across food, bakery, beauty and home care markets.
