interpack 2026 will expand its Women in Packaging initiative with an enhanced programme of keynote sessions, panel discussions and networking formats, reinforcing its focus on diversity and talent development in the industry.
Scheduled for 11 May at the Congress Center Düsseldorf, the event is designed to bring together professionals at all career stages, from early-career entrants to senior executives. Organisers said the format aims to provide practical career insights, encourage dialogue and strengthen international networks across the processing and packaging sectors.
According to interpack Director Thomas Dohse, the initiative has evolved significantly since its launch in 2023. What was initially a niche format has become an increasingly important platform for addressing workforce challenges, particularly in relation to skills development and talent attraction.
A keynote address will be delivered by Caroline Babendererde, Head of Sustainability Mid Europe at Tetra Pak. With nearly three decades of experience in environmental management, she is expected to highlight the links between sustainable packaging, food safety and the need to attract new talent to the sector.
The programme will also feature an international panel discussion moderated by Nerida Kelton of the World Packaging Organisation. The panel will bring together voices from industry, academia and international organisations to explore career pathways and the future direction of the sector.
New for 2026 are “Topic Hubs”, structured networking sessions focused on key areas including career development, mentorship, personal branding, work-life balance and future skills. These sessions are intended to facilitate more targeted exchanges and support peer-to-peer learning.
Organisers подчеркнули that the expanded format reflects growing industry recognition of the importance of diversity and inclusion, as companies compete for skilled labour and adapt to changing market demands.
By combining high-level discussion with practical networking opportunities, Women in Packaging at interpack 2026 aims to further embed these themes within the global packaging agenda.
