ADM has expanded its plant-based protein portfolio with the launch of eight new soy and pea protein ingredients across North America and Europe, strengthening its offering for food manufacturers developing products ranging from meat alternatives to baked goods and cereals.
The new additions include soy protein isolates, concentrates, textured proteins and a pea flour ingredient, reflecting growing demand for diversified protein sources and functional ingredients that support both nutrition and formulation performance. According to ADM, the products have been developed to help manufacturers address evolving consumer preferences while improving taste, texture and production efficiency.
For the bakery sector, the new Pea Flour ingredient may prove particularly relevant. The company said the product requires no allergen labelling, offers a neutral colour and flavour profile, and contains fibre, allowing manufacturers to enhance nutritional value while minimising formulation impact. ADM added that the ingredient is suitable for applications including batters, breadings, baked goods and cereals, while also being gluten-free and non-GMO.
The European-sourced Arcon® R soy protein concentrate is also positioned for bakery applications alongside meat alternatives and extrusion processes, providing clean taste and neutral colour characteristics in multiple particle sizes.
“Protein is one of the most dynamic areas of nutrition, with consumers now asking for more variety, functionality and choices than ever before,” said Greg Dodson, Vice President, Protein, North America, ADM. “With new ingredient introductions and expanding capabilities in facilities across the globe, ADM is uniquely positioned to not only meet that demand at scale, but to also help shape the future of protein innovation.”
Beyond bakery, the expanded portfolio targets a broad range of food and beverage applications. New soy protein isolates ProFam® 883 and ProFam® 894 have been developed for protein beverages and dairy alternatives, while several Arcon® soy protein concentrates are designed for processed meat applications and hybrid meat formulations. The European-sourced Arcon® T range of textured soy proteins is intended for extended meat products and plant-based alternatives.
ADM said the expansion builds on a legacy in plant proteins that dates back to the 1960s, when it introduced textured vegetable protein (TVP®). The company continues to invest in regional protein production and innovation capabilities, with facilities and technical centres supporting customers across North America, Europe and South America.
“By expanding our protein portfolio, we’re giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications,” said Tony Payne, Senior Director, Creation, Design, and Development, ADM. “This is about delivering choice, and giving consumers access to protein sources that are backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation.”
