BC Partners Acquires Italian Pastry Producer Bindi

BC Partners has acquired Pasticceria Bindi, an Italian producer and distributor of frozen patisserie products, for an undisclosed sum. The move will support the company’s growth plans, which include expanding the product offering and international sales.

Bindi, which reported revenues of over EUR140m in 2019, offers a wide variety of desserts and other bakery products, including patisserie, cakes, and ice-creams. In Italy, the company serves over 25,000 clients, including restaurants, hotels, and bars.

Founded in Milan in 1934, Bindi is also present in 40 international markets, which accounts for 40% of its revenues. The company has over 600 employees. 

The transaction follows BC Partners’ acquisition of the Italian frozen bakery products manufacturer of Forno d’Asolo in 2018, in a EUR276m deal.

“The company has also developed a strong international business, reflecting its high-quality offering and strong distribution network, especially in the US. We believe there is growth potential coming from strengthening the relationship with distributors in Italy and abroad and from the international development of the brand,” said Stefano Ferraresi, partner at BC Partners.
