We are happy to announce that Biscuit World is merging with each of our bakery titles, European Baker and Asia Pacific Baker. Serving the industry for over 20 years, our publications will continue to offer in this new format a comprehensive understanding of the industry, now with an improved distribution.
• Biscuit World has been serving the industry for almost 20 years now! We have had great editors who have enjoyed writing about this biscuit production heaven, including Alwyn Brice, Janes Durston, Francien Machielse and Andre Erasmus, to name but a few. Our current editor and person in charge for anything sweet or salty is Ioana – she has become a true expert in her field.
• Our editorial and advertising sales staff will never be able to go on diet that excludes biscuits; firstly, it would be horribly unprofessional and, secondly, so many great improvements are taking place, with the industry constantly working on making them healthier! In the last two years, we collaborated a lot and worked hard to bring the latest industry trends to you. And we will continue to do so, but now with an even greater distribution. Yes, you are reading that right! We noticed the movement in the market and how supporting industry is concentrating its power. We decided to follow that trend, optimize our production and put even more strength into European Baker and Asia Pacific Baker by including Biscuit World with each title! Content-wise, our readers will receive magazines with more pages, while our advertisers will enjoy more options to roll out their campaigns efficiently. In short, our overall strength will be doubled. This enhancement will begin with our summer publications, which are IBIE dedicated! The new names of our titles are European Baker & Biscuit and Asia Pacific Baker & Biscuit.
The world of biscuits and biscuit production topics will be given equal prominence in the two titles, as well as include all the planned topics we had for 2016, but with greater distribution power:
• European Baker & Biscuit: 11,133
• Asia Pacific Baker & Biscuit: 8,156
Svjetlana Brdar, associate publisher:
“We were brainstorming this idea for a long time, but waited for the right moment to give it the proper impact that it deserves. The main goal from the publisher’s perspective is to retain the great value that our teams, both past and present, built into Biscuit World, while enriching the pages of European Baker and Asia Pacific Baker, which are already powerful channels for our advertisers. The rebranding and upcoming upgrade of the news website will offer strong additions to our presence, which is already a well-known and trusted source in the industry. We know how to create appealing content for the industry audience and tailor it to each platform.”
Catalina Mihu, editor of European Baker and Asia Pacific Baker:
“The new magazines will now have an ‘all inclusive’ coverage of everything related to bakery and biscuits. We are closely monitoring industry dynamics in all geographic areas in which our readership is located in order to continue mirroring exciting developments, including Asia’s four markets of the future (total consumer expenditure in the ASEAN as of 2014 was USD1.4tn), biscuit superpower hubs in production, consumption and innovation, Europe’s trendsetting developments for the industry, and worldwide industry triggers. The new format will bring exciting new projects to the attention of our readership – more to be revealed soon!”
Ioana Oancea, editor of Biscuit World:
“I think the merging of our magazines will give the reader a more comprehensive understanding of the bakery market and industry, with a better view of all the sectors, including biscuits. As a team, we will work on the new format with the enthusiasm that comes with every new project, but also with the experience that we already achieved in this industry.”
