Two important appointments have been announced in recent days.
Mondelēz International announced the appointment of Charles E. (Chuck) Bunch to its board of directors, with effect from September 1.
Bunch, 66, recently announced his retirement as executive chairman of the board at PPG Industries, Inc., also with effect from September 1. He served as PPG’s chairman of the board and CEO from 2005 to 2015. With this addition, the Mondelēz International board will have 14 directors, 13 of whom are independent. “Chuck is another strong addition to our world-class board of directors”, said Irene Rosenfeld, chairman and CEO. “His strategic skills and strong operational and cost-management expertise will be instrumental as we continue to create value for our shareholders by leveraging our portfolio, reducing costs and investing in growth.”
After joining PPG in 1979, Bunch held positions in finance and planning, marketing and general management in the US and Europe during his first 15 years with the company. Bunch earned a Bachelor’s degree in international affairs from Georgetown University and an MBA from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. Bunch is a member of the boards of directors of ConocoPhillips, Marathon Petroleum and the PNC Financial Services Group. He is a former director of the H.J. Heinz company board, a former member of the University of Pittsburgh’s boardof trustees and a former director and chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the National Association of Manufacturers and the American Coatings Association (formerly the National Paint and Coatings Association).
Corbion appoints Theresa Cogswell
In her new role, she will lead the RDA Bakery team in developing new products and services, as well as support the Corbion sales team.
A flour miller by education and a baker by profession, Cogswell brings more than 35 years of industry experience to the role. In 2007, she left Interstate Brands Corporation (then Hostess Brands) and started her own consulting business, Baker Cogs, Inc. “We are excited about Theresa’s entrepreneurial take on innovation, and her enthusiastic approach to collaboration between RDA, sales, marketing and customers”, says Anieke Wierenga, senior director, innovation, food, at Corbion. “Her addition to our global team further strengthens our food RDA community with industry colleagues, customers and academia.”
Cogswell is a graduate of the Milling Science and Management program at Kansas State University. She will be located at Corbion’s North American headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas.
