The newly constructed Liverpool Development Centre and Academy will serve as an international hub for food manufacturing innovation and cake decoration skills training for the company.
The opening of the development center will add to the company’s global toolkit to further product development and innovation across all group operating companies. The center will be a platform for the inspirational application of Real Good Food products and will allow the company to embrace and test emerging technologies in ingredients, processes and packaging.
The first courses begin in July
The new facility based in Wavertree incorporates an Innovation Centre, which has been fitted new baking equipment and technology as well as The Renshaw Academy which will train and develop students and industry professionals from all over the world in the latest techniques in cake decoration. The Academy aims to partner with Liverpool City College and the first students will begin courses in July.
Wavertree will also become the Northern hub of the Group – serving as the regional office for Real Good Food plc – housing Group HR, Technical and Operations teams.
Pieter Totte, Executive Chairman Real Good Food commented: “The Development Centre is an important initiative and investment for us and I can think of no better city which to base this world leading facility.”
Elaine Bowker, Principal of Liverpool City College said: “Baking and cake decoration is an incredibly skilled and creative trade and this investment here in Liverpool by Real Good Food will not only benefit the local community, but will serve as a global hub for food technologists and scientists, bakers and other creatives working in the food industry”.
