The Japan Food Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (FOOMA) will host FOOMA JAPAN 2026 from 2–5 June at Tokyo Big Sight, with organisers positioning the event as a key platform for next-generation food processing technologies.
Held under the theme “The Shift is On”, the exhibition is expected to feature a record 1,025 exhibitors and more than 7,000 products. A central focus will be the event’s Innovation Program, highlighting advances in automation, digital transformation (DX) and robotics.
FOOMA JAPAN continues to serve as a gateway to Japanese food processing technology, which is increasingly востребовано globally as manufacturers seek to replicate authentic Japanese food quality at scale. The sector is recognised for its ability to handle wide product variety with low-volume production while preserving delicate textures and presentation—requirements that remain challenging for many international producers.
Automation is a key driver behind this capability. Japanese systems are designed to reduce labour dependency while improving consistency, safety and yield. Adoption is accelerating across Asia, where food manufacturers and foodservice operators are implementing automated solutions to standardise quality and expand capacity in line with Japanese production standards.
The 2026 edition will cover 21 technology categories, offering a comprehensive overview of modern processing solutions. Exhibits will range from specialised machinery such as sushi and onigiri production systems and bento assembly lines, to advanced freezing equipment and AI-based foreign matter detection technologies aimed at improving efficiency and product safety.
In addition to domestic suppliers, FOOMA JAPAN 2026 will feature a strong international presence. Exhibitors from Taiwan, South Korea and India are expected to showcase processing systems spanning snacks, meat, agriculture and ice cream production, reflecting the increasingly global nature of food manufacturing technology.
To support international visitors, organisers will provide dedicated services including a global information desk and export-oriented exhibitor mapping.
With its combination of specialised machinery, automation technologies and international participation, FOOMA JAPAN 2026 is set to underline the growing importance of integrated, high-precision solutions in addressing global food processing challenges.
