südback Becomes More International

südback, the trade fair for bakery and confectionery in Stuttgart, opens its gates between September 23-27, and for four days around 700 exhibitors will meet specialist visitors from Germany and other European countries.

Many industry experts expect further internationalization of the trade fair, which will be the largest event for bakery companies in the German-speaking region in 2017. “Almost 650 exhibitors have already secured their stand location, and we have meanwhile set up a waiting list,” says Jens Kohler, senior project manager at Messe Stuttgart.

“What’s interesting in this context is the large number of companies from abroad, totaling almost 20%. Even though Germany, Switzerland and Austria provide the majority of exhibitors and visitors, südback is becoming increasingly important for other European countries.” Beside bakers and confectioners, senior employees from bakery companies will also be visiting the trade fair in Stuttgart. Decision-makers from the food retail, gastronomy and hotel sectors are also growing visitor groups.

In 2016, südback totaled 691 exhibitors and 38,651 visitors from home and abroad.
