In about four months, the world’s leading trade fair for bakery, confectionery and snacks will begin. Visitors to this year’s iba can now reserve their tickets online and use the new iba website to prepare for the event which takes place in Munich between September 12 and 17, 2015.
Advance tickets for iba are now available. Visitors can reserve their tickets early, saving time and up to EUR 9.00 on the ticket price on the spot. Tickets are available at www.iba.de/en/tickets and can be printed out at home or sent straight to mobile devices. Any vouchers for day tickets can be redeemed online as well.
Alongside the option to purchase advance tickets, the iba website offers many new and useful tools to help visitors prepare for the trade fair itself. Exhibitors and visitors can find all they need to know to plan their travel, such as direct booking of hotel rooms, an overview of travel deals, information about arrival and about excursions to top sights in Bavaria. Using computer, tablet or smartphone, visitors can filter out favorites from the online catalogue by brand, product or exhibition hall.
An interactive show
Hall plans are also available online. Among the other new services on the website are a day-by-day planner listing all events, presentations and specialist demonstrations in the iba program.
These span from the iba forum and summit to guided tours for SMEs and international competitions taking place at the fair. Events can be sorted according to day, time and category. If you are interested in a particular presentation, you can save it directly to your calendar.
The new iba website is designed for optimal function on smartphones and tablet computers. The screen adjusts automatically to the user’s device, and is designed for use with touch-screen technology.
“It was important to us that iba’s new internet presence would work well on any screen and, above all, be user-friendly. Now users have quick and easy access to all the information they are looking for, even when they are on the move,” says Dieter Dohr, general manager of GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH, iba’s trade fair organizer.
iba takes place every three years at the Fairground Messe München. The trade fair encompasses all the products and technologies that are relevant in the daily operations of bakers and confectioners of all company sizes as well as of restaurateurs and decision makers from the food retail sector.
The range of topics extends from raw materials, ingredients, baking aids and half-finished products to production technology, process optimization, small and large machines and computer systems to complete interiors of bakeries, cafes and pastry shops, sales and out-of-home consumption. Around 70,000 trade visitors from more than 160 countries came to visit iba 2012. Overall, over 1,200 companies from 58 countries exhibited.
