The Metal Detection Division of Mettler Toledo has announced a new conveyor that detects and rejects metal contaminant in bakery and confectionery products.
The new conveyor system is specifically designed for bakery, chocolate and confectionery applications, to be used with its R Series metal detectors, Mettler Toledo says.
The new Series 90 Conveyor promises easier detection and rejection of metal contaminated products. “It is purpose-designed for fast and efficient inspection of multi-lane or randomly presented light-to-medium-weight dry confectionery products and packs” according to the statement issued by the company.
“One of the biggest product inspection challenges for bakery and confectionery manufacturers is minimizing product waste when rejecting contaminated products. Often product is loose and randomly presented during the inspection phase. Therefore, it can be difficult to reject just the contaminated product without also placing good products into the reject bin.”
The Series 90 Conveyor includes several features which reduce downtime, minimize product waste and allow easy integration with existing production lines.
Mike Bradley, head of Sales at Mettler-Toledo Safeline commented, “We wanted to give chocolate and confectionery manufacturers greater efficiency savings in their production lines. The Series 90 Conveyor integrates seamlessly with existing production line equipment. The conveyor’s key features minimize the risk of costly product recalls, significantly reduces product waste and increases productivity with higher throughput rates from the wider conveyor belt.”
