New Padovani Equipment Targets Flexibility and Reduced Downtime in Biscuit Production

Padovani, an experienced manufacturer of biscuit moulding equipment, has introduced upgraded versions of its moulding machines for baking trays, the R2/R3 PRO, designed to improve operational flexibility, ease of maintenance and line efficiency.

The new models reflect increasing demand from biscuit producers for adaptable equipment capable of responding quickly to changing product requirements and market trends. The supplier said the redesign was driven by direct industry feedback, with a focus on simplifying key operations and reducing downtime.

Among the main improvements is a faster moulding roller change enabled by direct access through the hopper, alongside toolless removal of the feeding roller to facilitate deeper cleaning. Conveyor belt replacement has also been simplified, eliminating the need to remove additional components and reducing the risk of misalignment.

The previous scraps collection system has been replaced with a double-section drawer accessible from the control side, improving ergonomics for operators. Machine settings, including knife positioning, rubber roller adjustment and belt tension, have been redesigned with clearer visual indicators to support quicker setup and repeatability.

Digitalisation features have also been expanded. Baking tray synchronisation can now be managed automatically via the touchscreen, while an integrated remote assistance system allows technicians to diagnose and resolve issues without on-site intervention, helping to minimise stoppages and maintenance costs.

Safety upgrades include a single-door system with an integrated safety detector that halts operation if opened during use. Extended, lockable drawers have also been introduced to support safer cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Overall, Padovani’s R2/R3 PRO aims to combine flexibility, hygiene and automation compatibility, aligning with broader industry trends toward more efficient and responsive biscuit production lines.
