Fazer Bakery’s new winter products have arrived in shops, including premium-quality Fazer Kiireetön bake-off bread. Its Oululainen Jälkiuunipala gets thinner.
Fazer Kiireetön bread has a crisp crust, a soft center, with an artisan appearance. The breads in the Kiireetön product family are made with a sourdough starter and given a long resting time before they are baked slowly and gently. The Fazer Kiireetön bread takes plenty of time to make – the baking process takes up to 24 hours. The water content of the dough is higher than usual, which makes the bread particularly succulent, the company explained. It also keeps for longer at home. Kiireetön bread is baked from grain grown in Finland, with no additives, and all loaves are hand-finished by a baker.
“We are bringing new premium-quality Fazer Kiireetön bread to bake-off units around Finland for friends of artisan bread to enjoy. Thin bread is becoming more popular in Finland and Oululainen Jälkiuuni is following the trend: it is now thinner but still baked at a traditionally low temperature,” the company said.
A thinner type of dark portion bread is becoming more popular. This is why the all-time Finnish favourite Oululainen Jälkiuuni Täysjyväruis is also following the trend and is now thinner than before. The authentic strong rye flavour of bread baked at a low temperature is now available in a thinner form. Jälkiuunipala Ohut Ruis is made with authentic starter dough and baked for a long time at a low temperature. This process results in a crisp, rustic crust and firm, but easy to chew middle. Made with 100% wholegrain rye from Finland, it is baked in Finland from Finnish grain.
Furthermore, this winter Finland’s most popular rice pasties have an oat crust and families with children are introduced to a new oaty flatbread, Lemppari Kaurarieskanen.
According to the company, oat is an increasingly interesting ingredient for Finnish consumers and many are aware of its positive health effects. Now oat is boosting the traditional market of rice pasties.
Fazer Kaurainen Riisipiirakka has a mild taste and a new, lighter crust consisting of 70% oat and 30% wheat. The pasties are filled with flavoursome rice porridge as before. Fazer rice pasties are made at the Lappeenranta bakery.
