Scottish Bakers, the association that supports craft bakers across the country, has launched a search for the first ever Scottish Baker of the Year 2012.
They are asking customers across Scotland to vote for their favourite baker and to rate their products in the following categories: morning roll, scone, small cake, savoury and bread scoring each on appearance, freshness, taste and value for money.
The winning bakers will be presented with their award by the BBC’s Great British Bake-off judge Paul Hollywood who is backing the competition: “I have dedicated my career to furthering artisan baking as a profession to be proud of, so I am delighted to be able to offer my support in recognising the best bakers in Scotland and presenting the first ever Scottish Baker of the Year Award as voted for by their customers.”
Go to www.scottishbakers.org/scottishbakeroftheyear or pop into your local baker to pick up an entry form to enter your favourite baker and register their votes for one or more of their product categories.
All voters will be entered into a free prize draw to win an i-Pad2, one for each category, there are 5 on offer!
