Bimbo QSR to Invest USD25m to Open New Plant

The Grupo Bimbo subsidiary will manufacture bread-based buns for the Southeastern US market at the Valdosta, Georgia facility. Grupo Bimbo subsidiary Bimbo QSR is set to start a USD25m project to open a new food processing plant in Valdosta, GA that will manufacture bread-based buns for the quick-service restaurant (QSR) market in the Southeastern US, Georgia Govovernor Brian P. Kemp announced in a release.

“This investment will allow us to serve our customers more effectively in the Southeast region of the US. One of our cultural pillars is ‘valuing the person,’ and we look forward to the job opportunities we will create in the state, in Lowndes County, and with the city of Valdosta,” said Al Gomez, who serves as general manager and vice president of Bimbo QSR’s US division.

An existing 100,000-sq-ft building will be upgraded at the Westside Business Park in Valdosta. Up to 75 new positions in operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and transportation will be created as the site starts up.

Bimbo QSR produces hot dog, hamburger, and sandwich buns at 73 bakeries across 21 countries.
