pladis Appoints A. Salman Amin as Global CEO

Snacking company pladis has appointed A. Salman Amin as global CEO. Salman will be taking over the leadership officially in February and will be responsible for all categories and regions, according to the company, which is a division of Yildiz Holding.

“Pladis is just more than two years old and already we’re fast becoming a global snacking leader,” says Murat Ulker, chairman of Yildiz Holding. “With Salman’s proven track record in driving transformation and growth among global FMCG players, we’re delighted to welcome him to lead our ambitious and entrepreneurial team.”

With more than 30 years of experience, Amin most recently served as global COO, Global Commercial division for SC Johnson & Son, Inc. He also served as PepsiCo, Inc. CMO and held leadership roles including president of the beverage company’s UK and Ireland business.

“I’ve built a career on seeking out opportunities to rewrite the rules, diversify and be part of consumer evolution,” Amin says. “At Pladis we have the opportunity to make our local favorites global stars, and share the heritage of our biscuits and confectionery with the world. I’m looking forward to joining my new colleagues as we embark on this journey together.”
