Puratos Opens Innovation Center in Massachusetts, USA

Bakery group Puratos continues its US expansion with the opening of Puratos Boston and Innovation Center in Massachusetts.
The Belgium-based firm, which offers application expertise for artisans, industry, retailers and food service sectors, invests USD1.5m in the new innovation center to create a 5,300sqf facility, designed to bring the company’s management, sales, customer service and technical teams together in order to work closer with consumers.

The innovation center will also provide Puratos’ commercial and artisan customers with access to the latest industry equipment, expertise and training, as well as in-depth research into international trends, according to a company announcement. 

Puratos Group chief executive officer Daniel Malcorps said: “With this new innovation center, we want to inspire our customers with better ideas based on consumer expectations, and support them in the development of their products and help them solve technical challenges.”

The firm also has another innovation center located in Miami, which it built in May this year, and will build another center in New York, in 2018.

According to their information, Puratos owns a network of 463 technical advisors in 82 innovation centers now, who are committed to supporting bakers on both local and regional level.

Puratos Boston is the company’s 82nd such facility worldwide, located in the Norwood Space Center. Earlier in 2017, Puratos relocated their Innovation Center in Miami, and in 2018 will open an Innovation Center in New York as part of the company’s continuing expansion.  

On the other hand, Puratos has recently announced the appointment of Julia Darvill as UK General Manager.

Promoted from the role of Sales Director which Julia has held for the past two years, Julia’s new position will see her responsible for implementing Puratos’ vision and strategy in the UK. Julia will continue to develop the business in line with its long term strategy and in response to the evolving global bakery.  

This month (September 2017), Puratos UK launches the international bakery, patisserie and chocolate ingredients provider’s new website. The new website showcases finished applications and recipes and features improved navigation and functionality and a clean and contemporary layout. The new website was tested on customers throughout its development to ensure optimum usability.
