tna Acquires FOODesign to Broaden Food Processing Offer

tna has recently  announced its acquisition of FOODesign, which expands its portfolio to offer food manufacturers a choice of processing solutions.

Located in Oregon, USA, FOODesign brings more than 20 years of experience in design, installation and service for total food processing plants to tna. Alongside its existing portfolio of cutting-edge packaging, seasoning and weighing equipment, tnanow offers a variety of FOODesign fryers and cookers, including kettle batch fryers and continuous fryers as well as baking and toasting ovens, and specialty roasting equipment.

These systems are suitable for use across a wide variety of applications including meat, poultry, seafood, bakery, confectionery and snack foods.

“This move underlines our commitment to servicing our customers’ growing needs for flexible and efficient turnkey solutions. With FOODesign providing equipment to many of the top 100 food processing companies in the world, the acquisition gives tna access to all the necessary skills, networks, market knowledge and relationships to provide customers with a new choice in processing equipment – from fryers and feed systems through to packaging and controls. We are confident that we can add value to our customers’ entire line and achieve significant economies of scale,” said Michael Green, managing director at tna, on the expansion.

“Joining the tna group is an exciting prospect for both our company and customers,” added Joseph Mistretta, president of FOODesign. “Up until now, our business has primarily focused on North America. Our acquisition by tnainstantly opens up a wealth of opportunities, giving us access to a global and extensive sales network, and maximising our ability to service our international customer base more effectively.”

The acquisition is effective since May 1, 2014; and FOODesign will retain its brand while integrated into the tna group.

European Expansion

In addition, tna has also opened a new office in Germany in April, based in Wettringen. tna’s Central European office will provide support to customers across mainland Europe, including technical services, project management and post-installation assistance. The Wettringen site also offers a demo and workshop area, which allow testing of the company’s seasoning, distribution and packaging systems.
