interpack 2014: Multivac Academy Offers Lectures on Packaging

As part of its presence at interpack 2014 in Düsseldorf, Multivac offered a variety of expert lectures on current topics in the packaging industry in the Multivac Academy.

The programme of the MultivacAcademy included expert presentations on numerous packaging-themed topics, such as: packaging innovation, development and design, sustainability concepts in the packaging industry, energy efficiency of packaging machines, food packaging made from renewable raw materials, and design and process validation in the pharmaceutical industry.

In addition to in-house speakers, Multivac had an impressive expert line-up, including Neil Cashmann – Snapsil® Corporation, Matthias Giebel – Berndt & Partner Consultants GmbH, Georg Götz – Fraunhofer IWU, Matthias Grzib – Institut für Verpackungstechnik (IfV) of VVL e.V., Dieter Mößner – Karl Edelmann GmbH, Dr. Michael Okoroafor – H.J. Heinz Company, Thierry Wagner – DuPont Medical and Pharmaceutical Protections, and more.

The program was completed by a panel discussion on the use of HPP (High Pressure Pasteurisation) for the preservation of food products. Participants included Prof. Dr. H.C. Langowski (Fraunhofer IVV), Dr. Markus Grube (legal practice for food law Kroll Weyland Grube), Sadia Seemen (Food Science Inc. Limited), and Dr. Tobias Richter (Multivac).

Among the topics revised by the experts were packaging innovations, resource efficiency maximisation of thermoforming packaging machines, sustainability and automation concepts, package design as a crucial element in successful product development, and many more.

The stand organised by the company in Hall 17 came with its own booth navigator guide for its visitors, highlighting the various packaging solutions on display, with food, healthcare, and consumer goods applications.
