Anuga FoodTec 2018: Resource Efficiency

Since the start of June, companies have been able to register as exhibitors for the coming edition of Anuga FoodTec, which is being staged in Cologne in 2018, from March 20-23. The primary theme of Anuga FoodTec in 2018 is resource efficiency and this topic will be addressed by all sections of the trade fair.

Of key importance is reinforcing competitiveness but using less energy and water through optimization of the production process. Also important is a reduction in food losses. ProFood Tech, the new supplier trade fair for the food industry markets in the USA, Canada and Mexico also highlights resource efficiency in its supporting program.

An early bird discount of EUR30/m² applies to exhibitors until May 2017, 31. Numerous existing exhibitors have already enquired about larger stand areas and many companies have shown an interest in exhibiting for the first time; thus, new growth is expected for the coming edition of the fair, both in terms of the number of exhibitors and exhibition space.

Anuga FoodTec has experienced considerable growth for years: between 2009 and 2015, attendance figures rose to more than 45,000 (+35%) and during the same period of time, the number of exhibitors increased to approximately 1,500 (+25%).

Anuga FoodTec confirmed its reputation as a business and innovation platform for all sections of the global food industry by having the top 10 most important food companies present at the fair and thereby, its high level of internationality. The number of foreign trade visitors made up more than 54%, while the share of international exhibitors comprised 56%. Visitors to Anuga FoodTec 2015 hailed from 139 countries. The trade fair is jointly organized by Koelnmesse and the German Agricultural Society (DLG).
