Richard Häusler, CEO of the Koenig Group, will retire on March 1, while Wolfgang Staufer and Hannes Stelzer will succeed him in the management.
“I think I’ve found the right time for my retirement, without the fear of falling into a retirement depression,” as DI Richard Häusler expresses his forthcoming retirement. Häusler has worked for 31 years for the Austrian bakery equipment manufacturer, 16 years as CEO.
After studying at the Technical University of Graz and after 10 years at the global corporation Andritz AG, Richard Häusler launched his career at Koenig as sales manager in 1985. In 1992, Häusler became member of the Management, and in 2000, he was CEP of the Koenig Group.
During this time, Koenig was established internationally as a leading manufacturer of high-performance bread roll lines. In addition, Koenig subsidiaries in Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, United States and Russia were built. Likewise, global strategic partnerships with sales and service partners have been established. With approximately 460 employees worldwide, Koenig has an export share of approximately 90 per cent today. “I know of no country in which there is not at least a small Koenig machine” as Richard Häusler likes to answer when he is asked about the number of countries in which Koenig operates.
The Koenig Group, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be led by DI Mag. Wolfgang Staufer and Ing. Hannes Stelzer, both of them are already part of the management.
