Some of the best private label products that have been introduced by retailers in Europe during the past year will be present at the first-ever Salute to Excellence Awards, presented at PLMA’s “World of Private Label” International Trade Show, to be held 20-21 May at the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam.
The award-winning products, in both food and non-food categories, were submitted by major retailers from across Europe and then evaluated by a panel of industry experts. The products were graded on several criteria, such as performance, taste, packaging, design and marketing. The winning products will be announced on Monday, 19 May at the PLMA seminar programme at the RAI Forum Centre. The winning Salute to Excellence products will also be displayed in a special exhibit on the trade show floor.
Another highlight of the seminar programme will be a presentation on private label market share across Europe. Paolo Politi, international sales director at The Nielsen Company will give an overview of the latest country-by-country market share trends, according to the event’s organisation.
“E-Retailing and Shoppers of the Future” will be the topic for the final speaker, Steve Mader, director digital retail of Kantar Retail, a well-known market research company.
The “World of Private Label” Trade Show is expected to attract more than 10,000 buyers and visitors from over 100 countries. There will be nearly 4,000 exhibit stands including 52 national and regional pavilions. Eight new pavilions will be featured: Ireland, Canada, Romania, Poland, Malaysia, Mauritius, South Africa and Southern US.
Products on display will include fresh, frozen and refrigerated foods, dry grocery, and beverages as well as non-food categories, including cosmetics, health and beauty, household and kitchen, auto aftercare, garden, and housewares & DIY. The show floor is divided into separate food and non-food halls to help visitors make the most of their time.
