SIAL China’s organizer has announced the decision to postpone the event this year to September, 28-30, due to the concerns regarding COVID-19 pandemic.
The show, which was set to be held May 13-15, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, is now scheduled to take place in late September at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, China.
“The serious international concerns of COVID-19 dictate that health and safety of the exhibitors and visitors must be our priority. Therefore, we have undertaken further precautionary restrictions, such as 14-day self-isolation upon landing in China, we must reconsider our plans. The impact on travel in May, for our international participants, is too logistically challenging to continue as planned,” the organizers explained.
Based on initial inquiries from both international and domestic exhibitors and visitors, the organizer of SIAL China is encouraged by the high level of interest in attending the exhibition in late September. SIAL China 2020 will include many of the signature events include SIAL Innovation, La Cuisine, and Retail and Hospitality Forum, among others. Preparations are underway for these features. Exhibitors are encouraged to submit now for SIAL Innovation, where Top 10 finalists and Gold, Silver, Bronze winners will be awarded.
Visitors can find at SIAL China a wide range of products such as confectionery, biscuits and pastry, sugar and sweeteners, chocolate products, salted biscuits, pastry, candied fruit or honey.
