Midamar Corporation, a leader in the American Halal Food Market, introduces a new branded line of Halal certified white and wheat bread, hot dog and hamburger buns.
Bread is not automatically Halal by nature and may be baked with ingredients derived from animal by-products, which could include pork by-products, according to the company. Midamar’s bread and buns are baked using a Halal Certified process and only Halal certified plant-based ingredients. Midamar’s bread and buns do not contain high-fructose corn syrup.
Midamar is in the process of launching their line of Halal certified bread and buns and its currently available at our Amazon.com store and on the company’s online store.
According to a guide for halal foods understanding created by Hahal Research Council, haram foods (not permitted) includes pork and its by-products e.g. gelatin, lipase, pepsin, meat from animals not slaughtered according to the Islamic dietary law, alcohol and foods prepared with alcohol e.g. candies and cakes that include alcohol such as rum cake, foods made with pure or artificial vanilla extract (vanilla is prepared with alcohol), foods containing blood and blood by-products e.g. blood pudding, foods made with any of the following: whey prepared with non-microbial enzyme, rennet, animal shortening, monoglycerides and diglycerides from an animal source, sodium stearoyllactylate, L-cysteine.
When it comes to bread and bakery goods, most concerns are related to lard, sodium stearoyl-lactylate and mono and diglycerides (from pork, non-zabihah beef).
