Koenig Introduces KGV EC Roll Line at iba.Connecting Experts

At the virtual iba.Connecting Experts in March 2021, the Austrian bakery machine manufacturer Koenig is presenting a new industrial line for various buns in Easy Clean Design.

“The new KGV EC bread roll line is the continuation of our developments in recent years in the area of simplified cleaning and accessibility. It is not only one of the most powerful lines that Koenig has ever built, but also the line with the highest performance in the ‘Easy Clean’ series to date, ” says Koenig CEO Wolfgang Staufer about the new development.

The completely revised KGV EC in Easy Clean Design is now available in the standard product portfolio. Thanks to the modular design, the KGV EC offers a range of 26 different products from Kaiser rolls, rose rolls, pretzel rolls up to cut rolls or convoluted rolls. The company says that configurations for other products are possible.

The line is available in various working widths and features a performance of 50 to 65 strokes per minute depending on the product. This corresponds to a performance of 46,800 pieces per hour in 1,200mm working width and 12-row operation.

Also, the line features a configurable pre-proofer with 750 usable swings at 50 strokes/min (proofing time of 15 minutes) or at 60 strokes/min (proofing time of 12.5 minutes). The modular design also enables unlimited product variety for customers with components such as stamping station, forming station, seeding unit etc.

According to Koenig, the KGV EC offers maximum line availability through reduced cleaning cycles and thus minimized downtimes of the line. The “Easy Clean” design ensures optimized hygiene and accessibility with a new type of frame structure. “With sloping surfaces at a 45° angle, neither flour nor dough residues can build up. The drives are completely encapsulated from the dough area and large door elements offer easy access for cleaning and maintenance. The line has a generous floor clearance of at least 200mm and pull-out drawers under the entire system allow easy cleaning.”

When designing the line, welded constructions were largely preferred to screw connections. The KGV EC is robustly made of Nirosta stainless steel and plastic parts for a long service life.
